To learn SMT placement technology, we must know the following 10 routine tips.
1. When the pick and place machine is running, try to control the temperature at about 25 degrees, not too high or too low.
2. When we print solder paste, the tools we need are solder paste, squeegee, dust free paper, steel plate, cleaner and mixing knife.
3. The more the number of mounting heads, the faster the mounting speed. Usually, we can use a four or eight head SMT machine to solve most assembly needs.
4. The suction nozzles are easily damaged. Check the suction nozzle before using the pick and place machine. If they are worn, cracked or deformed, they must be replaced promptly.
5. The nozzle relies on negative pressure to pick up parts. If the negative pressure is too low or nonexistent, the suction assembly will deflect or not suction the component.
6. Unless the pick and place machine requires high precision, a solder paste dispenser is usually not necessary and manual stirring is sufficient.
7. There are 3 types of reflow soldering machine, i.e., three-temperature reflow soldering machine, six-temperature reflow soldering machine and eight-temperature reflow soldering machine, which can be selected according to the need.
8. SMT Mounter can be broadly categorized into three types according to the number of mounting heads: four-head, six-head and eight-head mounters. They can also be categorized according to their functions. Usually, there are LED mounters and multi-function pick and place machines. The former can only mount LED devices at a faster speed, while the latter can mount various devices at a slower speed.
9. If the pick and place machine has deviation during operation, we can check if the lens needs to be cleaned, if the feeder is jammed and if the nozzle is working smoothly.
10. When making a new project file, if we need to change the material, we need to make the size and shape of the material correspond to its actual position in the system, and then perform the placement.
