How to Extend the Life of SMT placement machine

SMT placement machines are complex, high-tech, high-precision machines that require constant temperature, humidity and a clean environment. How to extend the service life of the mounter?

I. Strengthen the daily maintenance of the SMT placement machine

SMT placement machine must be strictly in accordance with the requirements of the equipment to adhere to the daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annually, annually maintenance measures for routine maintenance.

1. SMT Mounter day maintenance requirements

a. 10 minutes before work every day by the technician to guide the operator to start the machine to do daily maintenance work.

b. with a clean white cloth to clean the surface of the machine dust, including the surface of the body, display viewer, keyboard, mouse, buttons, switches, etc., if necessary, with a rag dipped in a little soapy water to wipe the surface of the machine must be wrung out without dripping before use, not allowed to use alcohol, washboard water solvent cleaning.

c. Check whether the air pressure reaches 0.5MPA air pressure value.

d. Check whether the PCB conveyor belt running smoothly, using the PCB to test no cardboard can be.

e. Check whether the safety devices are normal.

f. with a vacuum cleaner to clean the machine inside the scattered components.

g. with lens paper to clean the dust on the LASER SENSOR VCS lens.

h. Warm up the machine to listen to the sound of the machine whether there are abnormal phenomena, no abnormalities after the start of production.

2. SMD placer weekly maintenance requirements

a. The first point of inspection, check whether the gas distribution pipe and joints are leaking, each unit of the cylinder is working properly.

b. Check the conveyor belt, pulley, gear piece is damaged, damaged immediately do maintenance or replacement processing.

c. Remove all NOZZLE into the ultrasonic cleaning (ultrasonic add alcohol), about 5 minutes after the removal, blow dry, and then after the cotton swab dipped in a small amount of oil coated in the head activity plug.

d. with a white cloth will be ACT slider wipe clean, in the activities of the slider fixed screws plus a little oil.

e. with a strip of white cloth will be transmitted to the Department of cylinders, belts, slider, width adjustment silk plug, wipe clean and in the gear block, pulley with a small amount of oil, in the width of the adjustment silk plug with a small amount of layer printing workers butter.

f. Wipe the XY linear guide with a white cloth strip and add a thin layer of printer’s grease again.

g. Wipe the LASER WINDOW clean with lens paper.

h. Retest all NOZZLEs within SET UP and save to exit.

i. within the manual menu to view the LASER curve amount of hysteresis wipe clean.

j. Open the front cover of the slow warm-up 2 minutes, with a white strip of cloth will be excess butter wipe off.

3. SMD mounting machine monthly maintenance maintenance requirements

a. Turn off the machine power.

b. with 1.5M internal angle wipe down all the work head NOZZLE set, replace all FILTER.

c. with a white strip of cloth to clean the dust on all SENSOR.

d. Use vacuum cleaner to clean the dust in the distribution box, clean the boards piece by piece if necessary, and clean them with detergent, blow dry and reload.

e. Dismantle the vacuum generator, disassemble and clean it, wipe off the internal dirty grease with a white cloth, clean the body with detergent and blow it clean, then reapply the sealing oil in the sealing ring and reassemble it.

f. with a white cloth will X, Y, Z axis guide, screw clean, in addition to the Z axis guide, screw need to add AFL oil, the other rails, slider plus grease.

g. remove the mouse, use white cloth to clean the internal dirt.

h. Start the machine for 5 minutes to warm up and wipe off the excess grease with a white cloth.

 

II. The operating procedures for the operator of the mounter strict requirements

1. the operator should receive certain SMT professional knowledge and technical training.

2. in strict accordance with the operating procedures of the machine. Do not allow the equipment to operate with disease. Faults should be found in a timely manner to stop and report to the person in charge of technology or equipment maintenance personnel, remove before use.

3. the operator is required to concentrate on the operation process, to do eye diligence, ear diligence, hand diligence.

Eye attendance – observe the machine operation process with or without abnormal phenomena.

Ear diligence – ear to listen to the machine during operation with or without abnormal sound.

Hand diligence – found anomalies in a timely manner.

 

III. The development of the mounter to avoid operating errors in the regulations and measures required to be strictly implemented by the mounter operator

In the mounting process, the most easy, the most frequent error and fault is to paste the wrong components and mounting position is not correct. Therefore, the following measures to prevent.

1. The feeder programming, there must be a person to check and verify the feeder frame number position on the component value and programming table corresponding to the feeder number of the component value is consistent. If inconsistent, must be corrected.

2. for the tape feeder, paste and install each tray of material and then on the material, there must be a person to check and verify the value of the new material on the tray is correct.

3. Patch programming, must be edited once, check each placement step of the component number, mounting head rotation angle and mounting position is correct.

4. Each batch of products mounted after the first PCB, there must be a person to check. Problems found should be corrected in a timely manner by modifying the program and other methods.

5. The mounting process, often check the mounting position is not correct. More or less missing components and so on. Problems found in a timely manner to find the cause, and be excluded.

6. Set up pre-soldering inspection station (manual or SMT AOI).
